Research Proposal Assistance
Research Proposal AssistanceResearch proposal assistance is exactly what it sounds like. The research assistant (RA) writes the proposal, and the supervisor is the one to take the proposal and read it over. Once approved, it goes out for approval to the journals that need the work. There are several reasons why a number of projects people want to do go through this assistance process. One reason is that it helps the person to do all the writing and convincing while having someone else help them write the proposal. This can be a good thing because if you really think about it, it's probably better that you get another set of eyes to do the hard work.A common misconception is that research proposal assistance means you can get another set of eyes to go over your work, just to make sure it was all done correctly. This is not how it works. Those that go through research assistance work with the RA, not under them. Because there is no direct supervision by the RA, it's all on the RA to mak e sure that the work and the project are reviewed properly. That doesn't mean that the RA can't leave any comments or suggestions that might help improve the project. Of course they can, but they will be taken into consideration when they put the project together. Many other people do research assistance for their own projects. Not every project goes out with someone else to review it. That's why it's best to have two or three different eyes reviewing the proposal.Another thing to keep in mind about research proposal assistance is that, although it might seem kind of free, it really isn't. It's just more for the RA to work off of than for the supervisor to be involved in the whole process. They aren't going to be able to comment on things that the RA writes, but they will be able to give feedback on how the research should be done.As far as the supervisors are concerned, this just means that they are in charge of the work they are going to pay for. The RA is doing their job for them. In fact, they are going to be working for both the supervisor and the RA because there is no direct supervision from the RA.Research proposal assistance has a lot of advantages. It is a great way to have a second set of eyes to go over your work before you submit it to the journals you want to submit it to.
